Bagaya Kyaung, Ava

Bagaya Kyaung is an old teakwood monastery in Ava, near Mandalay. The building is somewhat dilapidated, but in a much better shape than most wooden monasteries in the area. Despite being a tourist attraction, it retains its function as a place of worship and a school for Buddhist novices. © Mark Levitin
