Shwesandaw Pagoda, Bagan

Often nicknamed the "sunset temple", Shwesandaw is the most popular viewpoint in Bagan for sunsets. While the view is truly magnificent, the crowd gathering here in the late afternoon can be overwhelming. However, with the ban on climbing other stupas, this is likely your best spot for sunset panoramas. © Mark Levitin
