Tilakaguru Monastery, Sagaing

Tilakaguru is a Buddhist monastery in Sagaing. While less active than many other monasteries on Sagaing hill, it has exceptional historical significance: its interior is covered in well-preserved medieval frescoes. Most of the monastery is actually a set of old meditation caves. © Istock/Rhombur
