**One of the oldest zoos in all of continental Europe… and a royal one at that! **

ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo, or as the locals call it - Artis, is a well-loved institution in Amsterdam that isn’t just a home for mighty animals (from lions to elephants, giraffes, you name it!) but it’s also a planetarium, aquarium and botanical garden in one space!

That means you can make a whole day out of having fun at Artis if you want to. And while Artis Zoo is already famous with lots of people throughout the day, don’t worry - you can bounce from one side to the other and still feel like you have a laid-back, nontouristic experience due to just how spacious the place is.

Even after a full day of exploring, if you’re hungry, there’s the ARTIS cafe, De Plantage which is in a monumental century wooden conservatory building.
