Utrecht Central Station has the biggest bike parking in the world!
In 2019, Utrecht opened a new bicycle parking, which is the biggest one in the world: there is space for 12.500 bikes!
It covers over 17.000 square metres, and there is space for 400 non-standard bicycles. The parking is secured 24/7, and there are even onsite bike repair facilities.
Since the parking is located at the station, it is important that it makes putting your bike down as easy and quick as possible. There is a bike path that goes through the whole parking, so you won’t have to get off, and you can just park and go. On the signs you can see how many spots are still available, so you don’t have to look for an available spot.
Tips and Tricks
- If you park here, just make sure to take a photo of the number you parked at, so you don’t get lost trying to find your bike when you go back.
Getting there Once you get out of the station on the side of the centre, there is a square. On this square you will see some stairs, shaped in a circle, that go down to the parking.
