Step outside and smell the flowers in this beloved 19th century park in The Hague, with scenic walkways and an insanely beautiful Japanese garden.

  • Known for being one of The Hague’s most beautiful estates, and for a good reason! Not one, not two, but three different landscape designs have made up the Old Dutch park. French, English, and Japanese design work makes up the park that dates back to the 19th century.
  • Soak in the sun and take in all the greenery while strolling through the park’s walking paths. Good for kids: Give the kids a play break outdoors at Clingendael’s large playground area, or stop by the park’s tearoom for coffee, snacks, or ice cream.
  • Japanese Garden: A cultural garden so authentic, the original designer “Lady Daisy” would sail all the way to Japan just to bring back the real deal decor! Sculptures, lanterns, bridges, and Japanese plants make up this garden paradise. Good to know: The Japanese garden can only be visited during a short period of the year due to its fragility, but definitely worth making the trip if the time is right!
