**This bridge is for sure an eyecatcher. **
De Hef ('the lift'), originally named the Koningshavenbrug is a bridge that was built as a part of the train tracks in the 1920s. Now it stands today as a heritage icon in Rotterdam.
During World War II the De Hef in Rotterdam was damaged and fixed for the trains. Its lift part is 52 metres long, moves up 45 metres and the highest point is 70 metres high. Since 1993 it doesn't serve its function anymore, but it remains a symbol for the dynamic of the harbour of Rotterdam and connects the north and south of the city.
