Looking for an authentically Dutch experience? Then this is the place for you - visit the last running mill in all of Delft!

  • The Netherlands and its windmills are like Britain and its pubs. For an authentic, cultural experience, you have to visit one, at least once. Delft’s Windmill de Roos isn’t a bad bet, and (bonus!) you can go inside to see how these old things work. Windmill de Roos is also the last of its kind. Out of the 18 mills that used to exist in Delft, it's the only one still standing. Try to spin your head around the history, technology, and craft experienced at this long lasting mill.
  • Back in the day it was corn, barley, and cattle feed milled at De Roos. Flour power:: Now you can check out the mill’s current purpose - turning organic grain into flour! Used for catering, bakeries, and everyday people. Buy your own bag of flour from the mill at the Molenwinkel Ambacht, just at the bottom of the mill!
  • The mill is open during the week for visits, or you can book a guided tour for school classes and families for a small fee. Any aspiring bakers out there?? The mill offers workshops every month where you learn how to bake 3 types of bread! Who’s hungry?
