How far did Alice make it down the rabbit hole? Find out for yourself in this giant wonderland-esque maze!
You may feel a bit nervous to put on a blindfold as soon as you enter a building for the first time. But at Doloris’ place, it’s required! Doloris Meta Maze is a completely immersive and interactive art installation that has taken a storm in Tilburg.
Here’s how it works: You and your friends get taken in the maze one by one, completely blindfolded. No phones, no interactions, just you on your own to explore the 40 rooms. That’s right - the Meta Maze is unique for being the largest walkthrough immersive art experience in the entire world! It will seriously feel as if you've been transported into a different world.
While you’re in the realm of Doloris, you’ll have to follow dark and narrow paths, jump through hidden doorways, walk through walls, and climb to the ceiling to make all the separate rooms feel like one never ending tunnel. Your senses will be sharpened, and you’ll have to reflect on yourself and all of your surroundings. Consider it a red vs. blue pill experience: perfect for all the thrillseekers out there!
What inspired Doloris’ Meta Maze? Over 10 years ago, the Dutch founder took a trip to Berlin and was recommended a bar with a hidden art installation. It was a 90 minute experience unlike anything he had seen before. He said afterwards he had to sit and stare at a wall for an hour just to process it! It finally made him realize one thing: there was a need to showcase something this incredible on a larger scale.
Berlin native Tim Henrik Scheider was the mastermind behind the original maze, and works for the art collective KARMANOIA - focused on creating immersive environments all across Germany. Scheider was called up by Doloris’ founder and the two collaborated on what is now referred to as the top Traveller’s Choice of 2021!
