Fancy a visit to one of the most important symbols of Utrecht? Yes, we are talking about the majestic Dom Tower!
112 metres high, the iconic Dom Tower overtops the beautiful city of Utrecht and can already be seen from a relatively big distance. In 1321 the foundation stone was laid and today, 700 years later, the tower is under the second big and complete restoration since it was first built. But don’t worry! The Tower can still be visited since most of the work will be done on the exterior and the inside presents itself in pretty good condition!
Did you know that up the Dom Tower there are 14 swinging bells? And did you know that it takes the effort of 26 people to ring all the bells at the same time? Every Saturday morning you can be lulled by some well-known melodies coming from a 50-bell carillon and enjoy the magic of this city even more. What are you waiting for? Book your visit at the Dom Tower!
