**This beautiful castle is an oasis of peace between the busy cities. **

Between all the busy cities of the Netherlands, Duivenvoorde Castle is an oasis of peace. Once you step into the castle it feels like you step back in time, as the rooms are still furnished like they were when it was still inhabited.

Dating back to the 13th century, this castle has remained within the family ever since it was built. Because of this, much is known about the residents throughout the years.

Fourteen historical interiors from the 17th to the 19th century are open to the public in Kasteel Duivenvoorde. The atmospheric rooms include a library, a cabinet with gold leather wallpaper, the 'Turkish' Room, with chintz wall coverings and an authentic mangle room. Family portraits hang on the walls and the rooms are filled with silver, Delftware and wonderful oriental and European porcelain.

The castle has a beautiful garden that just like the castle, is a national monument. There are rare plant species growing in the park with its winding paths, among which there the Stinzenflora: a plant that specifically occurs on historic estates.
