Descend into a funky, psychedelic wonderland where you become one of the dazzling pieces of art under fluorescent lights in this interactive exhibition.
If you’re looking for a quirky museum experience that has iridescent shine, look no further. The Electric Ladyland Museum is a small but brilliant space dedicated to the world of fluorescent lights and minerals. You probably already know about fluorescent lights, but this exhibit explains the history behind ‘em and what properties that create those striking radiant colors. Electric Ladyland will both educate and fascinate you--while shining like a rainbow under the black lights.
Guided tours by the owner and artist: Nick Padalino is the owner, artist, and creative mastermind behind the only museum in the world dedicated to fluorescent art. He first experimented with fluorescent light as a teen in the late 1960s after messing around with black lights and paint. This funky hobby eventually brought him to Amsterdam, where he decided to showcase his art and never-ending knowledge of all things fluorescent. Lucky for you, Padalino is the one on sight giving daily tours, meaning you get a detailed and intimate experience from the mastermind himself. The allotted time says 45 minutes, but some people (like myself!) stick around even longer just to chat with Padalino! It’s a rare opportunity to get an in-depth explanation of the art from the artist themselves.
The museum is split into two parts:

I wandered into Electric Ladyland not sure of what to expect, but was completely blown away by the art created by fluorescent light. It was such a unique tour from a couple who are exceptionally passionate about what they do. I left the place wanting to decorate my entire apartment with fluorescent paint!
