Your majesty, it’s time to go view some art! Experience the visionary work by Maurits Cornelis Escherin the former Dutch Queen’s winter palace.

  • Experience art like a royal! You’ll find this museum in one of the Netherlands’ most beautiful avenues. It’s located in the only public building in The Hague that gives off old palace vibes. Dutch Queen Mother Emma lived and worked in the palace up until her death in 1934--so this place is about as royal as it gets.
  • Over 120 prints take you into the wonderful and whimsical world of Dutch graphic artist Maurits Cornelis Escher. Optical illusions played a big part in Escher’s talent, and you can become part of his illusions in the interactive exhibit. Grow twice in size or shrink down to the ground, or even lose yourself in the room of movement illusion. Did the art move, or is it just you? If you want even more, make sure to check out the parquet floor by American minimalist artist Donald Judd, or watch the palace glimmer through the eye-catching chandeliers by Hans van Bentem.
  • Enjoy the palatial vibes for just a bit longer and have a coffee or try some high tea at the cafe. Or stop by the gift shop for a souvenir.
