**This museum might scare you off at first, but in fact it is a very interesting and beautiful one. **
There are museums about everything: art, history, architecture, food, music, toys, media… The list goes on and on. But something that you wouldn’t necessarily think about for a museum is death. It might be something that scares you off at first, but since it is a part of life why not be open about it and start a museum that focuses on funerals? That is what they did at Funeral Musem Tot Zover.
The museum is located in one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the Netherlands. There is a free audio tour available that leads you through the museum as well as the cemetery itself. Exhibitions are presented such as Funeral Train, Afterlife, The Pixelated Revolution, De Vogelvanger and Post Mortem, and there is even a scavenger hunt for children.
The collection of the museum includes old hair paintings, death masks, film fragments, coffins, urns and designer mourning objects, but also shows how funerals are done in different cultures.
