Escape to a green oasis hidden away in central Rotterdam next to Het Park.

Find some peace and quiet in the middle of the city. Take a break from the urban hustle and bustle as you wander around this beautiful hidden gem garden next to Rotterdam’s Het Park.

The former 18th century country estate was designed in an English-style landscape garden and is now a protected national monument. Set the scene as you enter the tucked away park through the original 18th century gate and across the brick arch bridge. If you’re looking for a relaxing city stroll or love nature, then don’t miss this park. Tuin Schoonoord is definitely one of the best and most beautiful green spaces in Rotterdam!

At 1.2 hectares, this park may be small, but it’s got a rich collection of flora and fauna. Can you spot all 8 bee colonies? Be on the lookout for pretty kingfishers and the resident tawny owl. See the Japanese carp swimming in the pond. Look up and see the gigantic Lebanon cedar tree that dates back to 1860! It's the big one, you can’t miss it.
