The location of Hoog Catharijne might be one of the most convenient things of all: right outside Utrecht Central Station. Before this area was reconstructed, the station was even attached to the mall.

Opened in 1973 and since then had gone through rapid modernization into a sleek centre, this mall is one of the most famous ones in the country and this is well deserved.

With a wide variety of (150!) stores, it is hard to just spend a short amount of time in this mall. From clothing stores to makeup stores and from restaurants to an Asian supermarket, you can all find it at Hoog Catharijne.

The mall connects the train station to the city centre, so it is perfect to walk through if you come from the train station and you are heading to the historical city centre.
