Kasteel Olt Stoutenburght

It looks like a medieval fairytale, but it was built recently. Kasteel Olt Stoutenburght is a childhood dream come true!

• Turns out this castle is not medieval. Building began in the 1990s when Gregorius Halman decided to complete his dream of having a castle of his own. Built from old bricks from demolished houses, the castle is 27m high and has three floors. Now that’s livin’ the dream.
• To enter the inside of Kasteel Olt Stoutenburght, you’ll need to prebook a tour by calling +31 561 441 225 or online. Tours are available in Dutch. The tour lasts just over an hour and you’ll be guided by the lord of the castle. Prices start at 2€ per person. You can’t get inside the castle without going on a tour! Still, this place is worth a look even if you can’t get a tour as it’s pretty unique.
• The castle is home to events throughout the year. One you shouldn’t miss here is the annual Christmas market. It’s super atmospheric and full of local goodies like clothes, jewellery, and luxury gifts! You can find out what events are on here
