Channel your inner Tarzan-or Jane! At Fun Forest and climb new heights in this fantastic forest.
Did you know? 20 minutes spent in nature a day is claimed to help reduce stress, increase productivity, and improve your overall well-being. But where can you do this in Amsterdam? At the Klimbos Fun Forest. Find your inner child again, venture into the forest and descend into new heights by swinging from tree to tree.
After Ernst-Jan realized this back in 2007, he knew he had to create a place in nature for people to interact in nature in a fun and exciting way. Ernst-Jan was a lover of working with his hands outside in nature, and with people. The Fun Forests were created in the city of Venlo and then in Almere and Rotterdam, and of course Amsterdam.
The second aspect of the Fun Forest was brought to life by Ernst-Jan’s wife, Fieke. This was when the Fun Forest Foundation was born. They both loved working with people, and she had the idea of providing a safe, comfortable place for young people to work, who had difficulty doing so elsewhere. The Fun Forest complies with the Code of Social Onderneming, meaning they value their social impact over making money. So by going to Fun Forest, you’re getting an outdoor adventure like no other, while also contributing to a good cause. Last year more than 100,000 people visited the various Fun Forest parks across The Netherlands!
