This urban oasis is the perfect place to get closer to nature in Rotterdam. Go for a walk, have a picnic, or get on the water.
Get outside Rotterdam's busy city centre to find its best nature spot. You literally can’t miss it; Kralingse Park is the largest park in Rotterdam. Fyi, the laid back green spot is made up of Kralingse Bos and Kralingse Plas. (That’s forest and lake for all our non-Dutch travellers!) Discover 200 hectares filled with old trees, sparkling waters and beautiful nature that hides the local wildlife. Kralingen Park and Bos is perfect for a quick break from the city.
Come and join the local Rotterdammers for a walk, to jog, or for a swim on sunny summer days. Walking all the way around the lake takes around an hour. Round off an afternoon with a drink or some food at one of the park's cafes and restaurants and you - get some pretty views of the Rotterdam skyline while you’re at it.
You can also get up to more activities on the water like kayaking and canoeing and SUP, that's stand-up paddle boarding. Go for a relaxing paddle or work up a sweat in a beautiful urban oasis. It’s easy to forget that Rotterdam city centre is only a stone's throw away while you're here.
Rent a bike and head out here for a little urban escape! There’s a couple of bars that are lakeside with a gorgeous view to have a drink and a small bite as well.
