LOVE Leeuwarden

**A unique sculpture and fountain in the heart of Leeuwarden by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa for the 11fountains project. **

• This unique sculpture didn’t come out of thin air! In 2018, sculptor Jaume Plensa joined in with the art project 11fountains to decorate Leeuwarden with 11 fountains to celebrate becoming Europe’s city of culture. The name does just what it says on the tin!
• LOVE Leeuwarden is one sculpture you can’t miss when visiting the city. No, really. You’ll step out of the train station and it’s right across the street.
• The 11fountains project is dotted around the city and guarantees you some unique sights, but Jaume Plensa’s LOVE (we think) holds the most mystery. It doesn’t look like the fountains you’re used to. Instead, you see two heads facing each other as watery mist creates a dreamy atmosphere around them. Visit at night and the faces are surrounded by soft lighting. What do these faces represent? It’s up to you to decide!
