They’re on you, they’re in you, they’re everywhere! Over a hundred thousand billion microbes--isn’t it about time you learned a thing or two about them?
A zoo in miniature! Who needs giraffes and pandas when you can check out billions of beings under the microscope? Located in the ARTIS in Amsterdam, Micropia is the only museum in the world that showcases the microscopic world of microorganisms.
What the heck is a microbe? Microbes are the most powerful organisms on the planet--despite also being the smallest! This interactive museum has created an educational space where you can learn all about what is clinging on to what you eat, what you drink, and even when you lock lips.
Their newest exhibit “A Better World Begins with Microbes” opened on October 4th. It tells you all about how microbes generate endless possibilities in our lives. From clean drinking water, less waste, healthier food and green biofuels. Who knew something so tiny could be so powerful for our future?
