**Separated from the centre of Utrecht by water, Molen De Ster is a charming saw mill that is a museum and café. **

  • Originally built in the 18th century, Molen De Ster keeps the local heritage alive with unique cultural events and guided tours. We recommend visiting on a Saturday to take full advantage of the tours.
  • Guided Tours: Taking place on Saturdays for free, these guided tours of the mill are available in English or Dutch from 13:00 to 16:00. A volunteer guide will lead you through the fully working mill to tell you all about the history of Molen De Ster. Kids are welcome, but have to be kept close as the mill is working and there’s some milling equipment about. They are free to wander the play area and petting zoo though!
  • A fully working mill, a cute cafe, and more. Molen De Ster is a cultural hub of Utrecht and a top local spot. The Netherlands has many nice mills to visit, but we think Molen De Sters local music events and Christmas market makes it something extra special. The cafe is a nice spot to take a break after wandering through the city. And the 18th century mill yard features a bunch of cute farm animals.
