This museum showcases a collection of medieval religious art.

At Museum Catharijneconvent, there is a great collection of medieval art, focused on religion. They have their own collection with paintings of Remrandt and Jan Steen as well as temporary exhibitions.

The museum is located in a building with a long history: it dates back to the fourteenth century. It started as a shelter for the homeless, years later a convent was built and even later it was turned into a hospital. Before becoming a museum in 1979, it served many other functions.
