Experience what it was like to live along the canal in the Golden Age.

Museum van Loon is an impressive house located on one of the canals that go back all the way to the nation's Golden Age. The first person to live in this house was Ferdinand Bol, a pupil of Rembrandt. After that, it became the residence of the family Van Loon. Willem van Loon was the co-founder of the Dutch East Indian Company in 1602.

At the museum you can see what it was like to live in a city mansion during the Golden Age - as a wealthy aristocrat that is.

You will find portraits of the wealthy, and impressive detailed furniture that are now rare antiques, silver, porcelain, ancient fireplaces, and more. Wander through different grand parlours and rooms that have remained the same as it was in the peak of its heyday.

The beautiful garden behind the house is laid out in the style of the 17th century - a lush oasis that makes for a true escape from the city.
