This square is home to Amsterdam’s most iconic museums, shopping streets, and local parks. Something is always happening here!

  • The Oud-Zuid district in Amsterdam is home to the most prestigious neighborhoods in the city. They’ve got the high end shopping street of P.C. Hooftstraat and Baerlestraat, top tier restaurants, and a cozy local park for people to sit and hangout with friends. Definitely worth a look!
  • Museum galore: If it’s museums you’re looking for, this is THE place! In the Museumplein is the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, and the Moco Museum. There’s also the famous concert hall Concertgebouw, which has been considered one of the best in the world!
  • Event hub: Even besides the museums, you can always find something to do in the museum square. They often have weekend markets, outdoor concerts, and local demonstrations. Winter wonderland: During the winter months, the entire square becomes a holiday festival with Amsterdam’s Christmas market! The pond is even transformed into an ice skating rink, so you can twirl your way around the infamous museum square.
