This railway museum is located in a former train station.

The Railway Museum has a great collection of railway-related heritage. With old trains, simulators, a playground and different exhibitions, it is a fun place to visit for all ages.

The museum has been located in the old ‘Maliebaan’ train station since 1954, but the train station itself dates back to the 19th century. This is seen in the interior: the building is decorated in a charming 19th century style, with impressive chandeliers hanging in the main hall.

The museum is divided into six sections, among which ‘The Great Discovery’, where you can take an audio tour around the beginnings of the steam age, and ‘Steel Monsters’, a ride through the dark with a family of three generations who worked on the railways. The other sections include a theater show where it is showcased how the rich traveled by train in the 19th century and an exhibition with old locomotives and carriages.
