**This lake is a hotspot in summer and a great spot to go for a walk in winter. **

The Sloterplas (Sloter Lake) is located in the new part of Amsterdam West. It was dug between 1948 and 1956, which means it is an artificial lake. With a little beach it is the perfect spot to hang out in summer. Have a picnic with the kids, organise a barbecue with your friends or relax and read a book on your own.

There is even a marina, a disc golf club with a course, a swimming pool, a paddling pool and a water sports center where you can learn how to sail, canoe or surf, Canoes, surfboards or sailing boats are available for rent here.

Around the lake there is the Sloterpark, which is perfect for anyone who loves hiking, skating, cycling or running. Not just in summer, but throughout the whole year this place is popular among locals to go for a stroll or walk the dog.
