Don’t miss this unique activity in Rotterdam, although it’d be pretty hard to. This full-size classic 20th century cruise ship sailed for 41 years until it came to rest in Rotterdam in 2000. Permanently moored off Katendrecht, the ship now contains a hotel, bars, restaurants and events venues.
It's totally free to hop on board and look around. But, you can also book onto a daily guided tours of the higher decks and the engine room. Tours start at 10:00 and end at 16:00 and last for 1 or 2 hours. Looking for a bit more excitement? In the depths of the ships there are 2 themed escape rooms which you can book on request. Great for a super unique group experience!
You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner on SS Rotterdam. The hotel’s main restaurant, the Lido Grill, has one of the biggest and most unique terraces in the city. You are on the top of a ship after all. For a super classy option try out the Ocean Wine Bar which combines great wine and great views of Rotterdam. Or visit the Captain’s Lounge for a bit of luxury - afternoon tea anyone?
A cool experience if you're wandering around the city without any real plan. We rode our bikes here and wandered around the old ship with a fun, retro interior. The lido deck's bar area was packed with people at sunset, so clearly a popular spot!
