Visit this old city castle that contains a grand cafe, a brewery and more!
Alongside of the Old Canal, in the city centre of Utrecht, is where Stadskasteel Oudaen is situated. Originally a medieval defensive tower house, the castle has served many functions. In 1758 the castle belonged to the Dutch Reformed church, which made it a home for the eledelry and the poor.
Later it became the house of the Roman Catholic student associate Veritas, but now it is a place where you can go out for dinner from early in the morning to late at night, or visit the brewery that this building houses.
Stadskasteel Odaen is also popular for business meetings and other private events. Whether you come here for a wedding, to have a meal with your family or try different beers with your friends, this location and historical atmosphere make it the perfect place to spend your time in the city centre of Utrecht.
