Modern art lovers, contemporary art enthusiasts, and design aficionados - this is one must-see museum that is made for you!
Standing tall as one of the great museums on Museumplein, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is home to a profuse collection from homegrown Dutch artists like Piet Mondrian and Gerrit Rietveld to international wonders from Andy Warhol, Marc Chagall, Jackson Pollock, and Henri Matisse - to name a few.
The Stedelijk Museum can be recognisable on Museumplein from the big white bath-tub-looking building. This is its new wing that was opened in 2012 by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. It's attached to the original historical building next to it.
The museum has a permanent collection as well as a rotation of various exhibitions at the same time.
