With books stacked from floor to ceiling like a cave, feel transported away into a book lover’s true hideaway!
Tucked deep inside a storied historical building in Amsterdam, amongst one of the city’s prettiest neighbourhoods too - is the Book Exchange. Here, spread over three wood-shackled floors are shelves after shelves of second-hand books for sell.
After all, this is the biggest second-hand book store in Amsterdam and all of Europe!
If you just want to browse, or add new titles to your own personal collection - the Book Exchange prices their preloved books quite fairly, and very cheap. From books that only cost €5 to €10, depending on the wear and tear, this store is filled with titles you know and love to titles that will itch your curiosities.
Since 1978, each floor of the Book Exchange has a wide collection of books from different genres spanning over 40 categories! From non-fiction to science fiction, crime and philosophy, to travel and cookbooks. Also if you want to sell any books you’ve read or relinquish from your own collection, this bookstore is the place to go for them to purchase from you!
