Admire one of the oldest buildings in The Hague, a delightful church with a breathtaking 360 view tower.

  • Besides Het Binnenhof, the Grote is one of the oldest buildings in all of The Hague. Apparently it dates back to the 13th century, where it once stood as a small, wooden church. Now it’s known as the city’s most popular Proestant church, where members of the House and Royal family have been baptised there.
  • Exhibitions, fairs, and cultural events all take place in the historic church, run by a foundation called Grote Kerk. Churchgoers and visitors can take in the beauty of this holy spot, complete with gorgeous stained glass windows.
  • 360 views: Climb up the 288 steps of the church tower, known as the “Haagse Toren.” With a guided tour you follow the footsteps of Van Gogh and Napoleon, reaching a spectacular view over the entire city from 92.5 meters high! Tours of the tower are every Saturday and Sunday at 13:00 and 15:00, lasting about 1.5 hours. Tickets can be purchased through this website
