**Have a look at this house built for two mice characters.... But actually! **

This house might be little for us, but for the two mice characters Sam and Julia it is a mansion. The two characters and their house was created by Karina Schaapman, who wanted to create a children’s book. Instead of using illustrations, she wanted to use photographs of a real scene. That is why she started building with cardboard boxes and other materials.

It took her three years to complete it and the story of Sam and Julia came to life in her first book!

Today she has published many books and you can visit the Mouse Mansion to explore it for yourself. The house she has built is a reflection of a home that she wants every kid to grow up in, a warm, safe, loving environment. See the mini-rollercoaster, the canals, bridges, the harbour… There is a whole world out there!
