At UMU you can see Utrecht’s academic heritage.
At the University Museum of Utrecht you can get familiar with scientific research of the University of Utrecht and with researchers from now as well as from the past. This museum consists of a botanical garden and 6 rooms with samples of scientific history, of which some have interactive material.
Do keep in mind that there are skeletons, and some other human (as well as animal) samples! Spooky - yes, fascinating? Most definitely!
For the museum it was important to show how important academic research is, and that it should be public for everyone. For them it isn’t so much about transferring knowledge, but seeing the process and the impact of academic research. UMU challenges you to think about yourself and the world around you. You will find answers and you will estimate the value of them.
