A two-wing, four-storey granary built by a merchant from Toruń, Jan Noggen, is currently one of the largest objects of this type in Poland. Over the years, it served as a granary, military barracks, and in 1823, the Prussian authorities rebuilt the granary into a military food warehouse. This date is significant, because this year all ceilings were replaced, new stairs and a roof were installed. The granary was connected with the tower (located within the medieval defense walls), adding the so-called connector with a crane. The tower itself was also rebuilt: the roof was changed into a gable roof, a lifting mechanism with a big drive wheel and a rope for winding the transport rope were installed. With a slight change, the granary survived until the 1990s, while in the meantime having office and economic functions.
In 1999, the current owners began renovation work. Thanks to their efforts, we can invite you to the inn and the hotel, where you can admire the original interior layout, antique wooden beams, exposed ceilings, renovated crane wheel. In addition, in the summer period, guests of the Granary are offered an extremely charming terrace - a view of the Vistula River, aromatic coffee and home-made cakes will relax even the most tired tourist.
