If you’re looking for a stunning panoramic view of Lisbon, then you must visit Miradouro do Cristo Rei. Located on the opposite side of Lisbon’s Tagus River, this lookout point offers a breathtaking view of the city and its iconic landmarks. But the real star of the show is the giant Christ statue, which stands at 82 feet tall and overlooks the city.

Take the elevator to the top of the statue to enjoy an even better view of Lisbon. This is a challenge, though, as you’ll have to climb 270 steps to reach the top. But the view from the top is absolutely worth it. You’ll be able to see the entire city, including the famous Belem Tower and the 25th of April Bridge.

The statue itself is also worth exploring. It was built in 1959 as a tribute to Portugal’s escape from World War II. The statue was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and is a symbol of peace and freedom.
