Museu da Marioneta

Since 2001, the Museu da Marioneta is located in Convento das Bernardas, in the Madragoa neighbourhood, center of Lisbon. It is dedicated to the universe of puppets, its history and interpretation and the divulgation of puppet theater. Its collection contains masks and puppets from all over the world and different historic periods, which show a variety of means of manipulation: glove puppets, puppets with strings, shadow and masks and many others. The museum provides temporary exhibitions and regularly promotes puppet shows and festivals.
