Pastelaria Benard

First opening in Rua do Loreto in 1868, Pastelaria Benard moved to its current location in Chiado in 1902, and since then it has been a popular spot for locals and newcomers alike. The pastry shop was the host of several memorable and historic events, like the visit of Queen Elizabeth II of England, who dined here. With a beautiful, clean interior with emphasis on wood and several salons, it serves both as a pastry shop with fresh, home-made products (like the famous Benard croissants) and as a restaurant of portuguese cuisine with normal and light meals, and its esplanade in Rua Garrett is always full.
