Muzeul Unirii Alba Iulia

The National Museum of Alba Iulia was founded in 1888 at the initiative of the Society of History, Archeology and Natural Sciences of Alba County. It started in the kindergarten building next to the Orthodox church in Lipoveni, then in a locality in Maieri (nowadays General School No. 3), and after 1918 in the north-eastern wing of the Orthodox Cathedral complex. Finally, since 1967 this prestigious institution has its headquarters in the edifice "Babylon".
