Lake Ladoga

Lake Ladoga is a freshwater lake located in the Republic of Karelia and Leningrad Region in northwestern Russia. It is the largest lake entirely in Europe. Surface area is 17,700 sq. km; max. depth is 230 m. There are about 660 islands on the lake. (Photo © credits to Alexander Chernyshev)
