The Sochi beacon

The Sochi beacon is the oldest in the south Russia. It was projected in 1874, and start functioning in 1880. First, kerosene lamp was used to show the way to boats, and later it was equipped with Fresnel’s composite lens. It still functions. It has red light which is visible at a distance of 32 kilometers.
