The Transfiguration Cathedral, Pskov

The Transfiguration Cathedral is the main church of the Mirozhsky Monastery in Pskov. The cathedral was built by efforts of St. Nifont. Severity and simplicity of this cross-shaped building became distinctive features of Pskov architecture. It is also famous for its magnificent frescoes, which were created by Byzantine and Pskov painters in 1130–1140.
