Tsarskoye Selo (Tsar's Village) was the town containing a former Russian residence of the imperial family and visiting nobility, located 24 kilometers (15 mi) south from the center of Saint Petersburg. It is now a museum and a part of Pushkin town. The museum includes the Catherine Palace in Rococo style with the famous Amber Room and the classical Alexander Palace, parks, churches, and pavilions. Near the palace there is the museum of the Imperial Lyceum where the famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin studied.
