Serbia numbers around 7 million residents. Its capital, Belgrade, ranks among the oldest and largest cities in Southeastern Europe. Combining the European Baroque with the Byzantine traditions of the Balkans, these churches have a cultural importance as a bridge between the Southern and the Northern Serbs.

Vojvodina

Fruska Gora Mountain is a small mountain region located in the northern part of Serbia called Vojvodina. It is easily reachable by bus or car from Belgrade and Novi Sad. Fruska Gora has numerous trails for hiking as well as an array of Serbian monasteries, so it is a great place to learn more about the culture and enjoy in some fresh air.
