The Cross Cave system is most famous for its underground lakes, which includes a chain of more than 45 lakes, known for their stunning, emerald green waters. Nowadays, it is possible to visit one of the lakes, which is an incredible experience. This visit is possible by guided tour by boat at the caves, and make sure to get your mental camera ready, as no photography is allowed inside of the cave.
The cave system that was discovered in the early 1800’s is extensive, with over 8 km of passages. However, only 1.5km of Lake Pivka is open to the public for visiting.
If you’re a fan of biodiversity, the cross cave has a distinctive ecosystem. Blind salamanders, a variety of species of bats, and many other species call this cave their home, all which have adapted to life in the darkness.

- Bring a jacket, the weather conditions inside the cave are a bit chilly.

- Tours leave December - March at 15:00 on only Saturday and Sunday
- Tours leave April - June and October at 11:00 only on Saturday and Sunday and 15:00 everyday
