A unique museum housing over 4000 species of shellfish and snails.
If you’re interested in the small little creatures of the sea like the many species of snails and shellfish, the Magical World of Shells Museum in Piran is the exhibit for you. Slovenia’s only shell museum is home to some of the most unusual and rare crabs, clams, starfish, and plenty more in an interactive museum.
The museum itself has shifted to a new purpose in its education, and that is the promotion of environmental awareness regarding conservation of sea life. Shells are important to plenty of underwater creatures, and it has dedicated its museum to informing its visitors and making them aware of the role of shells in culture, history, and the environment.
