A beautiful, gothic cathedral located in the heart of the second-largest city in Slovenia, Maribor.

Slovenia’s second biggest city is home to Maribor Cathedral, an interesting cathedral that was originally built in the Romanesque style in the 12th century, but over time, developed into a gothic-style cathedral. One of the most important things to do in the Cathedral is to visit and pay your respects to the first Slovene saint who is buried in this church, Anton Martin Slomšek.

Take some time to admire the Cathedral from the exterior as well. Its 57 metre high bell-tower helps in forming the beautiful Maribor skyline, and Slomškov trg square is one of the most charming areas of the city, so the Cathedral only looks more stunning surrounded by other picturesque buildings.
