Dramatic cliffs in the background and crystal clear waters are Moon Bay Beach’s claim to fame.

If you’re looking for a stunning beach that doesn’t get too crowded, Moon Bay Beach is perfect for you! While it is one of Slovenia’s most famous beaches, it does take about an hour and a half to hike down to this gorgeous location, making it less visited than it should be!

Moon Bay Beach is located in Strunjan Nature Reserve. It backs up to a cliff, and the pebbly beach has super clear water, so we recommend bringing your snorkeling gear if you want to see the amazing biodiversity that lives in this bay! Speaking of biodiversity, the hike down to Moon Bay Beach is ideal for birdwatchers, as there is an abundance of species you may be able to spot.

Don’t mistake this beach as just a summer hot-spot! Moon Bay is incredibly beautiful throughout the whole year. In fact, it may even be more enjoyable to hike down in cooler weather!
