**Learn about Slovenia’s railroad history at this museum housed in a former train station. **
The Slovenian Railway Museum is dedicated to the history and evolution of railways in Slovenia, and is a family-friendly museum. Slovenia’s oldest technical museum houses a collection of a variety of different types of locomotives, such as steam, electric, and diesel. One of the most intriguing of the exhibits is the world’s oldest preserved steam locomotive, which dates all the way back to 1824! There is also a collection of railway-related objects including uniforms, equipment, tools, and more.
There are a variety of entertaining activities for children as well at the museum. One of the favourites among children is the miniature railway ride they can embark on located right outside of the museum! It is a fun and interactive way for kids to learn about locomotives.
