To get a true feel of one of the best medieval towns in Slovenia, you only need to take a stroll down Šutna street in Kamnik.
As the main street in Kamnik, this is where trade once thrived and where the city was built out of, spiralling from this cobblestone centre.
On Šutna, you’ll see pastel-faded houses that are lined up one after another. In the centre is the mid-18th Church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary and its free-standing gothic bell tower.
One of the more curious things to see along Šutna is the medieval shop signs hanging from the side of small stores. Some of the signs are hand-crafted and bear symbols like axes representing the craftsmen that had businesses on Šutna.
